Sustainability: Compostable & Recyclable Shrink Wrapping
If you're a regular customer of ours or have received a stack of printing all shrink wrapped then you should know that you can throw this "plastic" in your regular council Yellow recycling bin or compost bin!
Keeping sustainability top-of-mind is important to us which is why we are always on the lookout for new ways to make our systems, products and packaging more environmentally friendly. And our suppliers are on board with this too.
You can dispose of all #1, 2 and 5 plastics in your normal Tauranga City Council yellow curbside recycling bins or other commercial recycling services. Or dispose of our shrinkwrap in your compost system and help us to divert these plastics from landfill and get more use out of this versatile resource.
Minipack Quickshrink compostable films are made from agricultural waste and do not actually contain any plastic.
Compostibility is the next step to biodegradability. In fact, compostable products are treated in composting systems to decompose naturally and become an excellent natural fertiliser.
The shrinkwrap we use has all the same characteristics and appearance of standard plastic shrinkwrap but carries and industrial compostable certificate of confirmity complying with EU regulations relating to plastic materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
Therefore, when you receive any of our parcels with shrinkwrapping, please do our environment a favour and either put it in your yellow curbside recycling bin or in your commercial composting bin.
